QEC’s Standby Power Rate Application

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has submitted an application requesting the approval
to create a new standby power rate. The application has been submitted to the Minister responsible for QEC and will be reviewed with input from the territory's Utility Rates Review Council (URRC).

The proposed rate is solely charged to commercial customers who opt to generate
their own electricity but rely on QEC to be on standby for backup power when their
self-generation system is not operating.
