Planned Power Outages in Kugluktuk

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Kugluktuk that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The affected areas are highlighted in yellow on the map below.

These outages are required for the safe installation of new switches at two locations and a midspan pole for the new airport terminal.

Planned Power Outage in Sanikiluaq

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Sanikiluaq that there will be a planned, community-wide power outage on Saturday, July 15 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

This community-wide outage is needed to safely connect the Local Housing Authority Warehouse to the grid.

Planned Power Outage in Iqaluit

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned partial power outage on Sunday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. This outage will affect customers in proximity to the Old Airport Terminal and Public Health office, as highlighted in yellow on the attached map.

This outage is required to safely complete the connection of a new business.

Billing Delays and Charges Explained

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) wants to inform Nunavummiut that there have been delays in distributing bills for January and February, and that these bills may have usage amounts and charges that are not typical.

January bills were issued for all communities, and February’s bills will be mailed within the next week.

For customers outside of Iqaluit, the billing will show usage amounts that are overestimated or underestimated for the following reasons:
