Planned Power Outage in Cambridge Bay

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Cambridge Bay that there will be a planned power outage in a section of the community on Saturday, August 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The affected area is highlighted on the attached map.

This outage is required to continue the installation of a new feeder or distribution line in the community.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Major Project Permits

Major Project Permit Application (MPPA)

Pursuant to Section 18.1 of the Qulliq Energy Corporation Act, for any project with cost exceeding $5 million, QEC must submit an MPPA to the Minister responsible for QEC seeking permission to proceed with the project. MPPAs are normally submitted well in advance of the projects start date to ensure approval is granted prior to the start of the project.
