Planned Power Outage in Iqaluit

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned power outage in a section of the city on Sunday, September 24 from 8 a.m. to noon. The affected area is highlighted on the attached map.

This outage is required to connect a new section of power lines to the distribution system.

QEC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

QEC applies for new Fuel Stabilization Rate refund

IQALUIT, Nunavut (September 21, 2017) – Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has applied to the Minister responsible for QEC for a new Fuel Stabilization Rate (FSR) refund of 5.41 cents per kilowatt hour. The proposed refund covers the period of October 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

“This is the fifth consecutive FSR refund that QEC has requested since November 2015. I look forward to consulting with the Utility Rates Review Council regarding QEC’s application,” said the Honourable Johnny Mike, Minister responsible for QEC.

Planned Power Outage in Hall Beach

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Hall Beach that there will be a planned power outage on Thursday, September 21 from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This outage is required to perform maintenance of equipment at the power plant.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Planned Power Outage in Pond Inlet Rescheduled

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Pond Inlet that the outage planned for Sunday, September 17 was cancelled due to weather. The outage has been rescheduled for Monday, September 18 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The outage is required to install a new transformer and perform upgrades to the distribution system

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Planned Power Outages in Clyde River

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Clyde River that there will be planned community-wide power outages on Saturday, September 16 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Sunday, September 17 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

These outages are required to install new power poles and connect a new emergency generator set to the distribution system.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.
