Planned Power Outages in Pond Inlet

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Pond Inlet that there will be three planned power outages affecting the entire community on Friday, September 15, Saturday, September 16, and Sunday, September 17 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

These outages are required to install a new transformer and perform upgrades to the distribution system

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Planned Power Outage in Gjoa Haven

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Gjoa Haven that there will be a planned power outage in a section of the community on Thursday, September 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The affected area is highlighted on the attached map.

This outage is required to install a new power pole and connect to the distribution system.

QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during this time.

The HR & OD Department is often the first point of contact for potential employees and this position plays a key role in promoting QEC as an employer of choice

This outage is required to perform maintenance of equipment at the power plant and to the distribution system.

Planned Power Outage in Apex

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Apex that there will be a planned power outage on Sunday, August 27 from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. The affected area is highlighted on the attached map.

This outage is required to connect the new subdivision to the distribution system.

Planned Power Outages in Cambridge Bay

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Cambridge Bay that there will be two planned power outages in sections of the community on Sunday, August 27. The affected areas are highlighted on the attached map.

  1. Green highlighted area from: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  2. Red highlighted area from: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

These outages are required to tie-in for the installation of a new feeder or distribution line for CHARS in the community.

Plant Superintendent

AMENDMENT: Competition open to all applicants

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Plant Superintendent is responsible for maintaining safe and continuous power generation and distribution, integrating production and maintenance requirements of all mechanical and electrical equipment under his/her jurisdiction.

The position is also responsible for operating and monitoring the diesel powerhouse and associated systems to provide safe, reliable electrical service to Qulliq Energy customers in the community in a cost effective manner.
