Qulliq Energy Corporation

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is entrusted to provide safe, reliable power to all customers in Nunavut. Owned by the Government of Nunavut and operated as an arms-length territorial corporation, QEC is the sole provider of electricity and district heating in Nunavut. In comparison to other utilities in Canada, QEC faces unique challenges as it operates 25 stand-alone diesel power generation facilities and distribution systems located in each of the territory’s communities.

Planned Power Outages in Sanirajak

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Sanirajak that community-wide power outages are planned for Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22, from 8 to 11 a.m.

These power outages are required to safely upgrade the power distribution system and improve reliability for customers in the community.

QEC thanks residents for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform Nunavummiut that Customer Care offices across the territory will be closed until further notice. 

The corporation is committed to the delivery of safe and reliable electricity to all Nunavummiut while helping to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the community. QEC will continue to meet the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Planned Power Outage in Kinngait

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the community of Kinngait that a power outage is planned for Saturday, October 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.

The power outage is required to upgrade the power distribution system and connect the community’s new health center.
