QEC planning environmental site assessment in Igloolik
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Igloolik that a contractor will be in the community from August 30 until September 4, to complete an environmental site assessment at the Power Plant (Lot 344) and the old QEC Staff House (Lot 67).
The contractor will be using heavy equipment to collect samples in the area marked in red on the map below. Residents are asked to avoid this area to ensure work can be done safely.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Kugluktuk that a contractor will be in the community from August 29 to 30, to complete an environmental site assessment at the Power Plant (Lot 26, 18 and 19).
The contractor will be using heavy equipment to collect samples in the area marked in red on the map below. Residents are asked to avoid this area to ensure work can be done safely.

Planned Power Outage in Clyde River
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the community of Clyde River that a power outage is planned for Thursday, August 20, from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.
This power outage is required to connect service to the new North West Company convenience store.
QEC thanks residents for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Installing unauthorized renewable energy systems
Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform Nunavummiut that all renewable energy systems installed on any building connected to the power grid require authorization from the Government of Nunavut’s Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector and QEC.
To ensure the safety of utility electrical workers and the reliable operation of the territory’s electrical systems, Nunavummiut are required to coordinate with QEC on their renewable energy installations.
