QEC continues decommissioning old power plant in Grise Fiord

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Grise Fiord that the corporation will continue decommissioning the old power plant from July 20 to August 20, 2021. The affected area is marked in red on the map below.

Decommissioning the old power plant requires the use of heavy equipment to move items for disposal. While safety will be monitored on site, community members are asked to exercise caution around the area where decommissioning work is being completed.

Planned Power Outage in Cambridge Bay

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Cambridge Bay that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, July 3, from 6 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, July 4, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow.

These power outages are required to safely connect the Aurora sub division to the distribution system.

QEC thanks residents for their understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Whale Cove that there will be planned power outages on Saturday, June 26 (Map A), and Sunday, June 27 (Map B), from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The affected areas are highlighted in yellow.

These outages are required to safely complete upgrades to the distribution system to improve reliability.
