Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned power outage in a section of the city on Sunday, March 24, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The affected area, along Federal Road near the airport, is outlined in yellow on the map below.
This outage is required to relocate a portion of the power line in the distribution system.
QEC would like to thank the residents for their understanding and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause during this time.

Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Manager, Electrical – Distribution, this position is responsible for providing technical and electrical system design services throughout the project cycle of Electrical Distribution projects from conceptual design through to commissioning. This position is accountable for selecting materials during the design phase, defining design criteria and specifications, determining specific technical details of design, and stamping drawings and documents.
Based out of Baker Lake, Nunavut and reporting to the Manager, Payroll, Pension and Benefits, the Payroll Specialist will coordinate the planning and organization of day-to-day work within the Payroll division. The position will also be accountable for collaborating with the Manager, Payroll, Pension and Benefits to ensure all employees are paid on time and accurately, that all pay queries are dealt with quickly and professionally and that relationships with outside service providers and government agencies are maintained.

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) invites the residents of Cape Dorset to celebrate the community’s new power plant on Thursday March 14 beginning at 4 p.m. QEC completed the construction of the new power plant in December and would like to thank the community for their continued support.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the new power plant at 4:00 p.m. There will be a photo opportunity for those attending. A ceremony and community feast will follow at Sam Pudlat School from 5 to 7 p.m.

Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Director, Operations, this position is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operation of twenty five (25) diesel-generating plants across Nunavut. This position will work closely with the Operations Supervisors across the territory to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in each plant. This role contributes to the delivery of safe and reliable electricity to QEC customers, while continuously promoting industry best practices.
Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Director, Operations, this position is accountable for the planning and management of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance activities for the Corporations diesel generation facilities. The position will lead all mechanical and electrical systems (Gensets) maintenance activities and ensures all work performed by the section meets all applicable standards.
If you are a qualified Powerline Technician who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively, and can effectively manage competing priorities and emergency situations, and deliver projects on time and on budget, we should talk.
Based out of Iqaluit, Nunavut and reporting to the Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Facilities, this term position is accountable for the design and construction of a new corporate building and managing the renovations of corporate facilities as required. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing cost effective project plans and schedules for various outsourced turnkey projects.
The position tracks and controls pre-award vendor inquires, project schedules, invoice payments, budgets, and provides cost rationalization.
