Qulliq Energy Corporation applies for fuel rider refund

IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 1, 2020) – Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has applied to refund customers a fuel rider of 2.76 cents per kilowatt hour for the period of April 1 to September 30, 2020. The application was submitted to the Minister responsible for QEC, who will seek recommendations from the territory’s Utility Rates Review Council.

QEC Customer Care offices closed until further notice

QEC is committed to the delivery of safe and reliable electricity to Nunavummiut. We have plans in place to meet the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the direction of the Government of Nunavut, and to reduce public interaction, Customer Care offices across the territory will be closed beginning Monday, March 23, until further notice.

Planned Power Outage in Iqaluit

Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) would like to inform the residents of Iqaluit that there will be a planned power outage on Saturday, March 7 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The affected area is highlighted in yellow on the map below.

This outage is required to connect a new customer to the distribution system on Federal Road.

QEC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
