Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) has applied to refund customers a fuel rider of 1.29 cents per kilowatt hour for the period of April 1 to September 30, 2021. A fuel rider is an additional charge or refund on customer bills that is intended to reflect the difference between the fuel prices reflected in the electricity rates and the actual cost of fuel paid by QEC.

QEC will estimate monthly billing for Kinngait customers for the April 1 to 30 billing period. Meter reads will not be conducted to protect the well-being of QEC staff and residents while the corporation continues to safely provide a critical service.

Estimated meter reads are calculated by using the previous month’s consumption. The estimate may be higher or lower than actual energy usage, but the difference will be corrected with the next manual meter read.
